Alyssa Kitten

Alyssa Kitten, left, with her mom and sister

After spending her entire life in Lubbock, Alyssa Kitten graduated from Texas Tech and left the flat lands of West Texas for the bright lights and skyscrapers of Dallas to begin her communications career. She landed the communications coordinator job at Cooper Aerobics where she handled everything from media relations to internal communications and marketing. However, after two years, Alyssa decided to trade in the city-girl lifestyle and return to her family and her hometown.

Her love for the public relations and communications industry was sparked by a friendship with a co-worker at the part-time job she had in high school. Her friend was in college at the time and was working toward a degree in public relations. After beginning her public relations classes at Texas Tech and working for a local advertising agency, her path to a career in communications was solidified. Upon her return to Lubbock, Alyssa took a job with Visit Lubbock and the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) where she now serves as their communications coordinator.

When she’s not spreading the word about Visit Lubbock and LEDA, Alyssa likes to spend time with her friends and she tries to fit exercise into her days after work. She enjoys spending time with family, which includes a sister who attends Texas A&M and 6-year-old twin brother and sister, at their house at Possum Kingdom Lake. Alyssa also enjoys weekend trips to visit her boyfriend’s family in Ft. Worth.
